Changes to all waste & recycling collections over the festive period

You can check your collection days by visiting the ‘Local Info’ webpage: http://maps.monmouthshire.gov.uk/

Or view the Collection day calendar 2020

Please ensure that all waste is placed out before 7am for collection.

Christmas time leads to more waste generation so the council has agreed that residents can put out two extra bags of household waste for their collection after Christmas Day from 27th December to 8th January. There is no limit to the amount of recycling you can put out.

Festive wrapping paper can be recycled in red bags provided it’s not made from foil, plastic or glitter wrap. Christmas cards can be recycled in your red bags too. All food waste can be recycled using the kerbside collection.

The 2020 garden waste collection service has been extended until 15th January, therefore garden waste customers can also put real Christmas trees out for collection. Please note there will be no collections between Monday 21st December and Sunday 3rd January. More info: www.monmouthshire.gov.uk/recycling-and-waste/garden-waste/

Real Christmas trees can also be taken to your nearest Household Waste Recycling Centre to be recycled.

The Household Waste Recycling Centres will be closed on Christmas Day, Boxing Day and New Year’s Day.

You must have a booking in advance of visiting a Recycling Centre.
Please be aware that the sites will still be closed on their usual closed days – For info and bookings visit: www.monmouthshire.gov.uk/recycling-and-waste/household-waste-recycling-centres/

Thank you to all Monmouthshire residents for recycling this year!
Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year
