Message from The Mayor of Usk
What an honour and a privilege it is, to serve as the Mayor of Usk.
I have lived in Usk for the past six years, having moved down here from the Wigan after retiring from The Greater Manchester Police, after 30 years of service, many of those years spent working as a Community Police Officer and finally as a Police Training Officer.
My partner, Peter and I love living here in Usk and are constantly amazed at how community spirited and friendly the people of Usk are. Everyone is so welcoming and willing to go the extra mile to ensure that Usk is a great place to live.
We are both avid Ballroom Dancers and love to get involved in all local activities, as a result, we have made a great deal of friends.
I was fortunate to grow up in a strong family environment with wonderful parents who were loving and kind, who actively encouraged their children to strive to do their very best and who instilled the values of honesty and integrity within us.
As your Mayor, I am committed to working tirelessly to make the town and community of Usk, a better place to live, work, and play.
I am passionate about equality and diversity, and following the example that my parents set, allowing people to achieve their best and to be who they want to be.
I believe that by working together, we can make a positive impact on the lives of all of our residents.
It is a pleasure to work alongside my fellow town Councillors, our clerk and finance officer, all of whom have a passion and willingness to make Usk the best place in Wales to live in and a place where everyone wants to come and visit.

Dementia/Alzheimer’s Society – My Mum sadly suffered with this terrible disease
Stroke UK– Which took a lot of my Fathers freedom away
Parkinson’s UK – Which sadly affected a very dear friend Eifion Owen
