Children's Play Areas

Usk Park

In summer 2017 a fantastic new free play facility opened in Usk. Usk Park Project secured funding after being set up by a group of parents three years ago, with the aim of creating a new play area for children. The group secured £100,000 from the Big Lottery Fund, and raised further cash through various events and with the support of businesses, and other organisations.

With state of the art play equipment the new play area is proving very popular with residents and visitors alike.

Usk Island

Usk Island is a very popular spot situated on the opposite side of the river to the town. In summer many families enjoy a day at Usk Island using the playground, enjoying a paddle in the river and a picnic. There is parking and toilets a few hundred yards north of the bridge, signposted "The Island".

Llanbadoc Island

There is another small outdoor playground at Llanbadoc Island, located near the church in Llanbadoc, a quarter of a mile or so south of the town on the west bank of the river (reached from the road to Caerleon). This lovely tranquil area of meadow has a specially nice atmosphere, and a few swings. It is popular for picnics and paddling in the river in the summer. Parking available.
